Overview
The tabla is a traditional Indian percussion instrument consisting of a pair of small,
hand-played drums. It has been a significant part of Indian classical music for centuries, providing
rhythmic accompaniment to various genres such as Hindustani and Carnatic classical music. The
instrument comprises two drums: the smaller, higher-pitched drum is called the "dayan," while
the larger, lower-pitched drum is the "bayan." Tabla players use a combination of finger and hand
movements to produce intricate rhythms and patterns, creating a dynamic and expressive
element in Indian music performances.
Rhythm pads are popular for creating beats, adding dynamic elements to music,
and enhancing live performances. They are commonly used in electronic music genres and are compatible with various software
and hardware setups.
